Verona: Journalism Festival
Verona
Journalism Festival
The exhibition in Verona was exhibited at the XVIII century city library, on the occasion of the city’s journalism festival. The display was on for a month, and the exhibition also hosted a number of events.
The display was designed as to mimic the flow of the current, by structuring large sized images along a sort of “tortuous” path consisting of three interconnected corridors. The library opened its entrance on via Cappello, one of the main and busiest streets of the city centre of Verona, so that the exhibition could be accessed from the main entrance and through this dedicated, monumental door.
The exhibition was opened during an event with Verona councilwoman Elisa La Paglia. The project also received the annual Journalism Award of the festival, which was assigned in front of the display during the launch event. The location was chosen also to award the annual scholarship of the Fondazione Megalizzi, a Verona-based foundation dedicated to Antonio Megalizzi, a journalist killed in a terror attack in Strasbourg. The festival also organised a major event with high schools dedicated to the exhibition, as well as a panel with journalist Giovanna Girardi on communicating the climate crisis.
